Responsible Travel in Chitwan

Chitwan's wildlife came back because people protected it. We want our guests to be part of that story.

Our commitments

  • No elephant-back rides. Our elephant experiences are observation-only.
  • Licensed naturalist guides on every safari, and two guides on every walk.
  • We never ask guides to chase animals or leave the track for a better photo.
  • Local partners: our lodges, guides, drivers and cooks are from Chitwan.
  • Fair partner rates, paid on time.

How you can help

  • Choose jeep, canoe and walking safaris
  • Keep noise down and stay well back from animals
  • Ask before photographing people
  • Refill your water bottle instead of buying plastic
  • Buy crafts directly from Tharu makers
